My name is Brian Smith and I am the owner and chief researcher for Ezancestry.com. I am also the President of Ezancestry.com's parent company, RDE Marketing. I have been doing internet genealogy research for more than 6 years, primarily researching my own family line. As you might imagine, my last name, Smith, is probably the last name you would want to do any genealogy research on! Try doing a search for "Smith" in a database and you'll soon realize it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack! Thankfully, I've only had a few Joseph's and John's to research! But, it has taught me the best ways to find valuable information stored in records and databases on the internet. And you can be assured that finding any and all vital information pertinent to your family history is of the highest importance to me.
Currently, my own family history has 3261 people, each one singly entered, dating back to the 13th century, with my own family name, Smith, having been traced back to 1549. Of those 3261 people, over 900 were born before 1800, and over 1500 were born between 1800 and 1900. And that doesn't include the large number of people researched who don't have a registered birth date! This shows that there is the potential for a wealth of information no matter how far back you'd like to take your ancestry!
I've probably spent a thousand hours of research time on my family research (You can see my partial family tree on our PhpGedView website by clicking the link at the top of the page). It has been a 6 year endeavor that will probably last many more years as family history building is a non-stop process that really never ends since each person on this earth has tens of thousands of ancestors, and it's practically impossible to ever reach the end. While we strive to accumulate as much informtion as we can in our allotted research time, even devoting twenty hours to family research will, realistically, only scratch the surface of the endless research we call Genealogy.
